DRIVER PACKET
JZILLA TRACK DAYS - SUNDIAL TIME ATTACK
Barber Motorsports Park - June 6-7, 2026
Welcome to Sundial: Time Attack Built for the Jzilla Paddock!
Presented by HellNBack and Sector1
Welcome, Drivers!
We're just days away from Jzilla Sundial Time Attack at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Al. Please read this page CAREFULLY, it will contain links to valuable information, procedures, and forms to help you have a smooth competition weekend. It would benefit sharing this page with guests you intend to bring.
Please note the details highlighted in the tech and competition registration section! Even if you have driven Jzilla HPDE in the past, many things are different and require your attention!
We are implementing electronic waivers to enhance our guest experience, this will replace the physical waiver signed at Check-In and MUST be completed before you may participate. This is not to be mistaken for the waiver the track requires before you enter. ALL PARTICIPANTS (drivers & guests) ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WAIVER BEFORE THE EVENT.

INTRO TO TIME ATTACK
We anticipate many participants to be experienced at HPDE that are looking to try their hand at their first time attack event. This section aims to clarify the differences between Jzilla HPDE and time attack event formats.
Before the Event:
We expect drivers to arrive early in preparation for Time Attack. Self-tech sheets are still required but time attack drivers will need to check-in at the TIME ATTACK CHECK-IN. See the section below on “Check-in and Tech Procedure” for additional details on where this check-in will be held. SpeedWaivers are still required, and can be filled out at the link above. This is different from the track credentials that grant you access into the property.
All Time Attack drivers must attend the main drivers meeting in the second floor at 7:30 AND the Time Attack driver’s meeting afterwards in the 3rd floor classroom (Marked “Podium Ceremony” on the map below).
Plan additional time to install your window banner, numbered door card, and transponder to your car before your first time attack session.
Passing:
Traditional passing in Jzilla Yellow (Intermediate) and Red (Advanced) group require point-by passing anywhere. Time Attack requires open passing anywhere, with point-bys strongly encouraged but not required.
In a traditional HPDE passing etiquette, the lead car is expected to maintain their driving line while pointing by the overtaking vehicle off of the driving line. For time attack, the lead car is expected to yield to faster traffic, pointing overtaking cars which stay on the driving line.
These passing rules require drivers to be very aware of their surroundings and to drive off-line during cool down laps on track. Anticipate when other drivers are closing in on you if you are on a cool down lap and make appropriate actions to ensure you do not impede on another driver’s hot lap, especially mid-corner. This may mean you have to maintain full pace during parts of your cooldown lap! In circumstances where you are the passing driver, ensure that the driver ahead of you is aware of your presence and that you are able to make a clean overtake. DIVE BOMBING IS NOT FAST AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
PADDOCK LAYOUT
SCHEDULE
The following schedule is subject to change based on on-track incidents and weather. It is up to YOU to drive cleanly and within your limits. Delays due to mechanicals or accidents will cut time from the Time Attack schedule and may result in us having to cut sessions in extreme cases.
Updates will be made via SMS updates. Please make sure you opt-in to texts from Jzilla in your MotorsportReg account.
CHECK-IN AND TECH PROCEDURE
Check in and tech registration for Time Attack will be held in the drive-thru Garages in the tower on the ground floor. Please prioritize plenty of time for this, and check in as EARLY AS POSSIBLE, as this is more involved than your standard HPDE check in.
CHECK-IN AND REGISTRATION TIMES:
FRIDAY, 6/5: 6PM - 9PM
SATURDAY, 6/6: 6:30AM - 7:15AM
EVERY COMPETITION VEHICLE REQUIRES A TECH STICKER TO GO ON TRACK! NO STICKER = NO TRACK!
You must complete a tech sheet signifying a thorough inspection of your vehicle prior to check in. This Tech Sheet is a legal document that must be filled out correctly. Take the time to complete and sign this form BEFORE you arrive at the track. This Tech Sheet must be completed by a competent technician, person, or shop. You, the participant, must sign all signature lines at the bottom of the tech sheet.
You will need to bring with you:
Helmet (SA2020 or newer)
Drivers License
Completed Tech Form
Competition Vehicle (as it will drive on track)
Completed e-waiver
Please bring your car and the above items to the garages and look for our staff running Time Attack Check-In, and we will get you sorted. Leaving Tech, you should receive your banner, door cards, class decals, transponder, helmet sticker, driver registration band(s), and vehicle inspection sticker. You are responsible for your credentials. Wristbands must be worn at all times.
All entrants are responsible for reading and understanding all tech, safety, and competition rules relevant to their class. Anticipate this will take time, and budget accordingly.
COMPETITION FORMAT
We will be running a traditional fastest lap of the weekend in each class format for this event. There will be three sessions each day, for a total of six sessions, that will count towards your fastest time of the weekend. Anticipate 15 minute sessions to set your fastest lap times.
At Sundial, we encourage clean driving and driving with ‘tegridy. This means no dive-bombing, intentional blocking, passing under yellow, dangerous driving, or driving four-tires off the paved racing surface. If you drive four tires off the racing surface, it is your duty to pull in to hot pits and self report to our staff. Failure to self-report will result in ALL of your lap times from the session being deleted. Please don’t be that guy. Any of the above infractions will result in your lap times from the current session deleted up until the point of infraction unless otherwise mentioned. If you encounter issues with other drivers, report these incidents to competition officials (Randy Reeves and Andy Hsiao) or Jzilla staff. We will mediate and rectify any problems.
Drivers are encouraged to run in-car video if infractions or incidents occur, and should prioritize urgency when reporting these to our staff.
GRID ORDER AND LIVE RESULTS
During the event, HERE you will find live links to your grid order, results, and (permitting) live timing.
STYLE GUIDE
Below is the style guide on how competition decals should be placed on competition vehicles. Obfuscation of other sanctioning body decals may be required.
EVENT SPECIFIC INFORMATION:
The sound limit for Barber is 104 decibels. This is strictly monitored at the track. If you think your vehicle may exceed this limit, please be prepared to fix the issue. Repeated violation of this noise limit will result in loss of track time.
The All-Hands Drivers Meeting will be in the Control Tower, second floor, near Check-In. Reid & Rick will go over flags, track conditions and other up-to-date information. This is mandatory and at 7:30 AM.
Time Attack Drivers Meeting will be in the Control Tower, third floor classroom. This will immediately follow the All-Hands Drivers Meeting, around 8:00 AM.
Please be aware of the time zone change. Barber Motorsports Park is on Central Standard Time (CST).
Numbers are required on BOTH sides of each vehicle. All vehicles must conform to the Style Guide as outlined above.
No passengers in Time Attack. This is a competition, and the risk of injury is elevated.
We drive rain or shine, hot or cold. If you bring a canopy, we ask you secure it with weight, but NO staking into the tarmac. You will not receive a credit because you do not want to drive in the rain.
Paddock speed is walking speed and strictly enforced.
Acknowledge the Safety and Corner Workers. They work very hard in adverse conditions so we can be safe. Show them some love and respect during your sessions, it means a lot to them.
Do NOT blow the Checkered Flag. Once you see it, pit in the next opportunity. Don’t be that person that wastes the next Group’s valuable time because you aren’t paying attention.
We request that any dangerous behavior be brought to the attention of Jzilla Staff immediately.
Camping will be open 24/7 as long as you have finished with credentials.
Early Load-In is 4PM to 9:00PM Friday Night. You will have access to the park 24/7 after you load in.
