Sundial: Time Attack Built for the Jzilla Paddock: Inaugural Event at Barber Motorsports Park, June 6-7, 2026
We are excited to offer Sundial, a time attack event built for Jzilla drivers. The event is catered towards experienced HPDE drivers new to the time trial scene. The rule-set is built to be approachable, affordable, and fun for drivers to jump in and be competitive. Transponder, windshield banner and number door card are all included with your entry fee. There are 6 total classes which are differentiated by engine displacement, tire treadwear rating, and various allowed modifications with emphasis towards relatable car builds. Safety equipment requirements remain the same for HPDE: an SA2020 or newer helmet, a seat, and factory 3 point seat belts or 5/6 point harnesses. Half-cage and full roll cages are suggested but not a requirement to participate. The ultimate aim for this program is to get drivers experience and familiarity with the time trial event format and build drivers up to explore more competitive time trials series.

Roach:
This is the catch-all class which encompasses a bit of everything with tire as the ultimate normalizer. We built this class for anyone unsure about time trials but want to try it out and have a good time while doing it: run whatcha brung. Car modifications are restricted to near stock: no aftermarket big power mods, no aftermarket forced induction, no aftermarket aero, got to have stock interior BUT… if you got a big boy engine, you’re going to get a tire handicap. Vehicles with NA engines over 3.7L or factory forced induction over 2.0L are limited to a tire treadwear rating of 400 or above. Vehicles with smaller engines are allowed tires down to a treadwear rating of 200. Good luck, have fun, don’t suck, don’t die.
Street:
Street is the first class with some structure and allows modifications. This class is designed for mostly stock street-driven vehicles with factory aero or aero options, including replica aero which are OE+ inspired. Vehicles in this class are limited to 60,000 USD base MSRP without options adjusted for inflation to 2026 dollars. Engines must be at or below 3.7L NA or 2.4L or below with factory forced induction. These rules are not subject only to USDM-equipped vehicles. JDM and EDM vehicles with OEM engines which fit within this rule are also able to participate in this class (SR20 240 owners, this one’s for you). The cars participating in this class must have valid street registration and are encouraged to be street driven. Tires are limited to a treadwear rating of 200 or above, with specific tire exclusions listed within the rules with no restriction to width.
GT-Street (GT-S):
This class was designed for street vehicles with higher vehicle values and larger engine displacements than allowable in street but that are still street cars. Vehicles in this class must still retain valid street registration. The vehicle value limit is raised to 100,000 USD base MSRP without options adjusted for inflation to 2026 dollars. Engines must be larger than 3.7L NA or 2.4L with factory forced induction. Modification restrictions are similar to street. Tires are limited to a treadwear rating of 200 or above, with specific tire exclusions listed within the rules with no restriction to width.
Circuit (C):
This class was designed for Jzilla trackrats and less-streetable vehicles. Vehicles in this class must be production vehicles but registration for the street is no longer a requirement and the vehicle value cap is set to 100,000 USD base MSRP without options adjusted for inflation to 2026 dollars. Engine displacement must be 3.7L NA or below or 2.4L or below for forced induction. Turbos, swaps, interior guts, and aftermarket aero are all allowed in class with restrictions to these outlined in the ruleset. Tires are limited to a treadwear rating of 80 or above and a cap of 285mm width for RWD/FWD and 255mm for AWD.
GT-Circuit (GT-C):
This class was designed for big boy trackrats and less-streetable vehicles. Vehicles in this class must be production vehicles but registration for the street is no longer a requirement and the vehicle value cap is set to 150,000 USD base MSRP without options adjusted for inflation to 2026 dollars. Engine displacement is larger than 3.7L NA or 2.4L+ for forced induction. Turbos, swaps, interior guts, and aftermarket aero are all allowed in class with restrictions to these outlined in the ruleset. Tires are limited to a treadwear rating of 80 or above and a cap of 315mm width for RWD/FWD and 305mm for AWD.
Super Circuit (SC):
This class is for crazy modified trackrat builders and super-car owners. If you ever wanted to know how your crazy miata build would stack up to a Porsche GT car, here’s your chance. The ruleset is only limited to production-chassis and closed wheel vehicles. There are no vehicle value limits or tire width/treadwear limits. Show us what you got.
